Unable to add MPN ID

I'm getting the error message below when trying to add my MPN ID (the same one I've used to publish other applications in the past; this is my first Teams one).

"You are unable to add a verified publisher to this application. Please contact your administrator for assistance."

Since I am the global admin for the tenant and using the same email that is set up as the primary contact in the MPN center, not sure where to go from here...

  Hi Mike,

  This refers to Publisher Verification process: MPN ID should be added in App Registration on Azure Portal. Publisher Verification is mandatory for app publication. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/platform/concepts/deploy-and-publish/appsource/prepare/submission-checklist#complete-publisher-verification

  There is a great article Troubleshoot publisher verification - Microsoft identity platform | Microsoft Docs (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/develop/troubleshoot-publisher-verification) which contains almost all errors which partners can get during the verification process. The error "You are unable to add a verified publisher to this application.
